Clean up after yourself…

I didn't understand what was happening to my iMac's disk: no videos anymore, and stil gibaytes and igabytes that were nowhere to be found. So I used GrandPerspective, a nice representation of any folder's content and size. Here's a grand perspective of my /Users/cyril folder:

Well you know what I found: most of the right third of this space/image is made up of iPhone backups and iOS ipsw and my own apps (the biggest ones). The center stuff is mostly my WWDC videos. The yellow and brown on the left is my Windows VM and the biggest one is… Lightroom! I could easily delete the most obvious guilty files, such as all the 4.0 ipsw that are left. So, clean up after yourself, iPads, iPhones and iPod touchs! Or maybe I could buy a bigger iMac…
